How To Design Conscious Home

Design a Conscious Home: Bring mindfulness into our lives by decorating our house with energy balancing techniques enriched with ancient spirituality, striving to live more conscious lives and evolving in unison with Mother Earth. Become aware of yourself and how you interact with universe leads you with its signs, welcoming us and enveloping us in a huge bear hug. Be self-aware, live consciously, improve you are and how you relate to the world. Let’s begin our journey to living a more conscious life.

So now a question: Does your home enhance your life consciously? Or does it block you?

Our abodes and homes interact with every aspect of our lives and the decisions we take. They can increase stress or when designed with a conscious intention they nurture us and magnify our connection to the world. To live fuller and positive lives we have to feel the positive interaction with the world around us.

Living consciously becomes even better when we create a Conscious Home. A home that is connected to our energy fields or aura and is a reflection of us and our life gives us the nurturing care that we need. Knowing the different fields of energies and how they are connected to the environment and the universe gives us the tools we need to create balanced interiors that inspire our minds and connect our spirit to the Divine.

Creating a conscious home starts with knowing yourself: what calms you, what drives you and what stresses you. You can create a space that supports you, gives you joy and inspires you to excel. Decorating beautifully improves your quality of life. By surrounding yourself with the five elements of nature – earth, water, fire, air and ether, your living space will come alive. Create a space defined with the beauty and charming energy of your beautiful self. Vintage doors from old Indian Havelis carry the energies of the old days, each inscribed with ancient symbols of the sundial and lotus flowers, elephants and vines, bringing the earth and energy elements into your home. Studded with iron and brass they balance the electromagnetic field by grounding the negative ions int to the earth. Armoires and sideboards that are handmade from these old doors are used for the same reason as well, apart from being unique and one of a kind.

Once you create a space, feel the flow of energy. The interiors should engage the senses and enrich the soul. The five senses of sight, smell, touch, feel and hearing should all feel balanced but how do you incorporate each one into your design? Colors play a vital role in sight so the keep colors calming and soothing like blues and greens. Vintage blue Jaipur doors were used to bring in the calmness and tranquility of water as Jaipur is a desert city. Play with water fountains nested with a backdrop of wall sculptures of Krishna and Ganesha, using water as a tool to bring in peace and prosperity.

Eliminate stress with lush potted plants that bring in the earth element. Keep your desk clean and organized, improving the flow of harmony and peace.

Personalize your living space with pillows and blankets, soft sari drapes and pashmina blankets. Wall art that gives you a tingling feeling when you when you see it- use them into your design. Select furniture that tells stories and reflects on you as a person, using it as inspiration to drive you to towards your goal in life.

Finally, create a space that enhances your daily practice of meditation and prayer. Harness your spiritual self- the prana, make your home a sanctuary and connect it with the Divine. The beautiful universe and its sacred elements raise your vibrational energies, deepening your connection and enhancing your spiritual growth – allowing the path to the heart to become vividly clear and evolving the person in you to become who you are.

A conscious home will give you joy, peace, and prosperity. You will smile as you enter your home, feel relaxed and secure in its peaceful tranquility and each moment will lead you to an expansion of a blissful life.

Tips To Decorating Your Home

Sometimes, a home, as cozy as it is already, needs a fixer-upper. But how do you fix a home which seems okay as it is? By using just a simple hacks, to up the ante so to speak. Here are a few home decorating hacks you should know.

Start with the door. Making a great first impression is always a good thing. And the best way to do that is to decorate the door. A decorated and well-painted door has that ‘welcome’ appeal. For example, orange and yellow colors convey warmth and joy. Skip the screen door, because that is not only an eyesore, it’s outdated. If you want to take it further, add a good mat and a door accessory.

Let your sofa have a ‘conversation’ with your chairs. It’s a simple trick you can find at hotel lobbies and even rooms to invite people to sit and have a conversation. The furniture are arranged ‘U shape’ or ‘H Shape’. In the ‘H shape’, two armchairs which sit side by side is facing the sofa. In the middle is a coffee table. While the ‘U shape’ places the coffee table in the center, the two armchairs on its left and right side, and the sofa at the middle. All chairs and the sofa are facing the coffee table.

Another furniture tip is that don’t push the furniture against the wall. Doing that sets the limit of the room. ‘Floating’ furniture gives the illusion that the room is a lot larger.

Let natural light in. Want to save on lighting expenses but still make your home fabulous? Go for natural light. Sunlight not only provides good lighting but disinfects your home. It’s also invigorating foe some to get much needed rays. This also means who no longer need thick, expensive drapes.

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall. Mirrors make the room look bigger. They also bounce light across the room. So be sure to put a mirror in each of your rooms. Place the mirror on walls which are perpendicular to windows so they can effectively bounce light.

Low ceiling? Use your illusion. If your house has a low ceiling, there are some tricks you can use to make it look higher and well, less claustrophobic. One is to hang your curtains higher than your windows. The ideal height is around three inches, or just the right height before it gets too short. Two, use mirrors. It’s not only magicians who use mirrors for tricks. Mirrors make a room look larger, a leaned one makes the ceiling look higher. Another hack is to use vertical stripes, the lines make your walls seem longer.

Scale a rug using furniture. Ever seen a living room rug that seems out of proportion? It’s either too big or too small. To avoid this, make sure all the feet of your living room furniture can fit inside the rug. We’re talking about the sofa, two arm chairs and the coffee table. If the rug is too big, there will be lots of excess space. You want the rug to end just a few inches from the furniture feet. This creates a proportion which is not only visually great but the rug ends are tucked properly that they will not be hazardous for people who move around.

Question To Ask For Interior Design

Over many years as an Interior Designer, what would be 3 major shifts in consumer preferences during that time?

One thing that comes to mind right away is the shift from stain grade cabinets to paint grade cabinets. White kitchens are back! Clients are trending more towards lighter and brighter over the red/orangey tones of the last decade. Flooring has changed quite a bit with more clients opting for LVP (luxury vinyl plank) throughout their house. LVP has come so far, and is now super durable, easy to maintain and looks crazy real. Thirdly, quartz countertops are now becoming the standard. I rarely spec granite anymore. Quartz is so easy to maintain vs granite and the colors and patterns that are available now mimic everything from natural marble to exotic granites.

What are some future ideas and predictions going forward? Any new trends that may be taking place in 2018/19 and beyond?

Natural woods are very popular right now: hand scraped, wide plank barn board flooring as well as overtly distressed furniture pieces. What is also starting to come forward in design is more of a traditional style again. Details on everything and the use of rich jewel tones are hot right now along with warm metal tones (yes brass is back but in an updated way!).

What are some of the challenges to face in helping customers realize their dream renovation?

A lot of clients are afraid to trust their style intuition. They often fight between their heart and their brain over what they want. Often, they are trying to force themselves to change color palettes or styles from their last house and sometimes its way out of their comfort zone. I always tell clients to listen to their gut. Their home is their sanctuary and they need to feel comfortable, relaxed and love being home.

Are there certain types of renovations that tend to bring the greatest value to the selling price of a home?

Kitchens, Ensuites and basement developments are always the spaces people use the most, therefore increase the value of your home. Those rooms are the ones potential home buyers are looking at predominately because they know those are the areas they will spend the most time in.

How does one get ideas or inspiration to help guide them when considering renovation options?

I will often suggest that clients send me photos of homes, rooms, styles, products that they find on home décor sites. Often clients don’t know what their style is, so if they can show me pictures of things they like, then I can usually understand them better. Visiting showhomes is also an excellent way to find inspiration and new ideas.

Guide To Choose Colours For Your Home

Redecorating your home is an essential task and a lot of people fret about it because it is also something which requires splurging on a large-scale if you are thinking of a complete makeover.

Colours play a vital role in everyone’s life and no one in the world is skeptical about it or have a conflicting thought. Well, when you want to make a change in your home and want to be playful with colours, it’s important to know the colour psychology as few of them are vivacious and energetic while others may be cool and calm and relaxing.

Here we are going to discuss about the ways you can bring in colours to you life…

1. Give your walls a life

Adding vibrancy in your room is always a great option to bring in a beautiful positive aura into your space. One of the trendy ways of doing it could be focussing on just a single wall and giving it a complete transformation while keeping the rest in simple tones. Just adding a beautiful floral pattern or a cheeky colourful wallpaper to one of the walls in your room can shift the focal point in no time. You can choose either bold and contrasting colour theme or a subtle colour palette depending upon your personal preference.

2. Giving your nook or alcove a desired splash

Why not splash your reading or resting sessions with amazing rainbow colours for a unique and creative look and feel. These places always catch the attention at first sight and you should be careful in choosing the right colour to give them a revamp in style.

3. Make good use of pillows and cushions in your living space

Nothing can come out more appealing than few strategically scattered pillows and cushions on your sofa or a chair. Try opting for a multicoloured floral patterned cushion or a pillow to entice in a vibrancy factor in your living space.

These cushions and pillows will bring in the comforting element while adding to the style quotient as well. Choose the right fabric depending upon the right season like for spring, it is recommended to go for linen or cotton as they allow the fabric to breathe.

4. Bringing in the nature is always a good idea

Natural plants and flowers are the best ways to inculcate the best of the colours into your decor. With spring season on the cards, try opting for seasonal flowers like tulips, daffodils and bluebells; three of the most common flowers to spruce up your indoor area. They will infuse the best of the colours while adding a touch of mother nature into your decor.

5. Add some colours to your floor as well

With the rest of the room being taken care of, it is now time to add some colours to your floor. The market is full of modern and designer rugs available in amazing colours to fill in your space with the best of the colours possible. Tips To Buying Rug

As the owner of an Oriental Rug gallery for many years, I have purchased thousands of handmade rugs. In the beginning, the process was a bit daunting and I was somewhat overwhelmed but as time passed, I learned from experience and study and now would like to share some of my insight with you today.

Important points when looking at a potential purchase of an Oriental rug.

Number 1

Colors! Do you find the colors of the rug to be aesthetically pleasing? Do the colors in the rug give you a pleasant feeling of joy and happiness? If yes, this is a great start.

Number 2

Quality of the materials. If the rug is wool, as most hand-woven rugs are, is the wool good quality? Good quality wool will not be dry or scratchy to the touch and should be quite resilient. If you push on it, does it spring back? Hand-spun wool from healthy sheep is durable and will last for many years. If the rug is silk, it should glisten like the sun and will be cold to the touch. If a “fake silk” often called “art silk” it will be much less expensive and not very tightly knotted. Beware of these “art silk” rugs as they are mercerized cotton and there is no silk in the rug.

Number 3

Do you like the drawing? The drawing is the design layout of the rug. It can be geometric based or floral or anything in between. Is it too busy? Too flowery? If you love the colors but do not like the design, my advice is to pass on the rug. Do not purchase it. You must like both. Always honor your taste!

Number 4

Will the size work for your needs? A little bigger or a little smaller should not stop you from making a purchase but if the rug in question is a totally wrong size, time to let it go.

Number 5

Are you able to try the rug “on an approval basis” which means, you can take the rug home and ensure it looks wonderful in the spot you have in mind. All dealers of repute will allow you to do this and some dealers, such as myself, will even ship rugs, on an approval basis.

Number 6

Do you love it? The more you look at the right rug, the prettier it becomes. Good quality hand-woven rugs with beautiful colors and interesting designs never stop giving. They will never become boring and as time moves forward, you will enjoy them every day of your life.

My last words of advice: Be, very, very careful if you start obsessing on all things rugs. This art form can be very addicting and then you may have to become a rug dealer so can do this all the time!

All About Modern Architecture

The United States is seeing a huge building boom that is changing many city landscapes very quickly. The new style of architecture that mixes modern and contemporary styles seems to be winning. The evidence is easy to see in how long it takes a new home to sell. Today’s buyers want the modern look, and they are paying up for the modern and contemporary style. Here are 4 home renovation ideas that can help achieve that look.

  1. Open Concept Living Spaces
  2. Eat-In Kitchens
  3. Metals and Wood Stairs
  4. Industrial Accent Materials

Nothing says modern like open concept living spaces. One of the best ways to change a home’s feel is to open up the living, dining and kitchen into one large living space. Not only is this style in demand, but it also is very functional. The idea of open concept living areas gives the home a social environment.Eat-in kitchens are a must, as it works directly with the open concept living space. It is a functional design that allows social interaction between the kitchen and the table. It is perfect for entertaining and if you have children it lets you keep an eye on them while you cook, watch the game, or clean up.

Metal and wood staircases not only give a very modern look but they are also highly functional. They are much safer than wood stairs and they allow for a variety of accent materials such as wood, glass or stone stair treads. Modern styles work well with high end accents and they give the home an elegant feel. Metal stairs can be used indoors and outdoors. One signature look of the modern home is the clean lines of metal handrails that are used on balconies and stars.

The most defining feature of modern style home is the simple use of industrial materials such as stone, concrete, steel and glass. Many modern architects like to use new materials that are strong and last long. Using clean simple lines with different materials give this style it’s clean look. Some accent features that are common in many home renovations are using stone tile for walls, thick glass for doors/ balcony handrails, and even reclaimed materials such as wood from old barns and buildings. Even industrial style barn doors on a open track are used.

In the end, you can get that modern look by simply dressing up a few key items in your home.

Tips To Making Your Home More Colorful

Are you scared of color because you are scared of committing? Color is an effective way to bring personality, and create a focal point in your home’s spaces. Unexpected utilization of colors speaks volumes about your personal style as well as sets your home apart.

Decorating your space, in terms of color, shouldn’t be challenging. Actually, it’s as effortless as 60-30-10. If you look at some of the example rooms in a designer’s portfolio, or in magazines, you’ll confirm this to be true – most rooms are invariably divided in percentages of 60-30-10. So why is this the case? It’s because of the human tendency to view an overall theme in 60{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} hue, unifying the coloration, followed by 30{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} that entails visual interest while the remaining 10{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} adds some little spark.

When handling your home décor, you should divide them into these percentages:

  • 10{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} of an accent color
  • 30{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} of secondary color
  • 60{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} of a dominant color

The following are some of the creative ways to add colors to your home décor:

1. Use Color to Get Emotional

Everyone associates colors with something they represent. For instance, red can represent warmth, yellow; the sun, blue; the sea and air, and green often represents trees. Generally, all these are considered to be emotional responses to color, compared to intellectual responses. Therefore, you can utilize the emotional associations to bring out their greatest effects within a space. You can do so by deciding on the emotional impact you desire in a room. Do you want it to be lively? If yes, then yellows and reds are the ideal choices. Do you desire subdued? If yes, then browns and blues are the best.

It’s really important to note is that the color you settle for ought to reflect the activities performed in its space. For instance, if it’s for rest, such as a family room or a bedroom, you need to settle for darker values of color which relate to restfulness such as browns, blues and greens.

2. Consider Contrast

High contrast spaces appear clearer as well as more defined compared to a space that includes low contrasts. A high contrast space is one that utilizes dark and light values of color in combination with light gold. Low contrast rooms, on the other hand, utilize sage green with saffron yellow. The golden rule is to use high contrast to improve your room’s formality and high contrast colors to introduce soothing qualities.

When paired, white and black are formal in appearance. They’re not like a tuxedo. Combining black and white is less of a color value and more of subtracting or adding light. However, white with beige boasts a low contrast coupled with a feeling of calmness. By combining black and white with gray, you’ll enjoy a low key atmosphere and it also helps to create a restful space.

3. Flow with Color

For you to create a color flow from a single room to another, all you need to do is select a color you use in one room and then restate it differently in an adjoining space. For instance, is your sofa green? You can utilize the same green for seat fabrics in your dining room. Utilize the color in smaller and larger degrees as you move around the home. The same green for the living room sofa, earlier mentioned, also applies to lampshades in your family room. You can also choose to place mats inside the kitchen.

4. Consider Adding Color to Your Furniture Pieces

Bold color choices are not restricted to walls. Therefore, why not jazz up your old furniture piece(s) that you might have fallen out of love with? For instance, you can paint your walls yellow, and then accent your furniture with pops of aqua. Regardless of your locale’s color, it’s possible to select colors that reflect the region you live in. The other painless way to select colors is by opting for seasonal color variations. Fall colors such as browns, russets, and mustard yellows will create a subdued and calm space that’s ideal for resting. On the other hand, spring colors tend to be more uplifting. Saffron yellow, lilac and pinks impart a fresh and naïve look to your room.

5. Consider Adding Some Mother Nature

Green plants, as well as flowering ones, usually add personality, fragrance, color, and great feelings to a living room. For those that lack a green thumb, they should ask a home center, or nursery, for recommendations of plants that need no or little care. If you are far from your home for long, you should settle for the incredible ones available in the market now. Look for great looking flowers, foliage and plants that only require dusting.

6. Have a Color Scheme

Choosing the right color scheme for your room can be challenging. Fortunately, there’s a way to simplify the process. You can do so by utilizing a color wheel, and then narrowing down your selection to two color schemes. Of course, there are more. However, the following are not only effective, but are also excellent places to start:

  • Analogous color scheme – Rooms that utilize this color scheme are more muted, restful and casual when it comes to coloration.
  • Complementary color scheme – Rooms that employ this color scheme offer a clear separation of colors.

7. Think about Seasonal and Local Colors

By studying past color schemes you’ll surely be able to create a room’s color by incorporating the already accepted color schemes.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to decorating a home, not everyone has the time and money to conduct a complete makeover. Fortunately, there are plenty of creative ways to pimp your home décor using colors. Employ the above strategies and you’ll certainly be able to transform the look and feel of your home. There’s no doubt about that.

Tips Oil Burners For The Furniture

Oil burners in fuel are an integral part of oil heating appliances. In the oil boiler, the burner must be adjustable, depending on the changing parameters of the fuel oil. See what are the most important things related to oil burners.

The advantage of oil boilers is that after replacing the burner, the oil furnace can also be operated as a gas. There are also produced dual-fuel burners enabling the change of fuel from oil to gas and vice versa, without the need to replace the burner. However, due to the high price, they are rarely used in boilers intended for single-family houses.

Oil Burner and Gas Burner in heating boilers sprays fuel oil or allows it to evaporate. During this process, the fuel intensively mixes with the air and only a mixture of oil and air is burned.

A proper oil quality is a prerequisite for the proper operation of the oil burner. The most important for the course of the combustion process is kinematic viscosity. To get the right viscosity, you need to heat the oil. In the burner, the oil is heated by an electric oil heater. It is integrated with the nozzle and has a variable power range. The heater adjusts its electrical power to the instantaneous heat demand, thanks to which it minimizes the amount of energy consumed. After the fuel has reached a predetermined temperature, e.g. 80 ° C, the thermostat gives a signal to the controller. The controller first starts the fan, then the ignition system, and then opens the shut-off valve for the oil supply. The resulting oil-air mixture ignites, as indicated by the flame detector.

If the flame disappears during the burner operation, the oil supply is immediately interrupted. The device attempts to restart the burner and ignite the mixture. However, if the mixture does not ignite at the programmed time, the burner will be blocked.

After starting and adjusting the burner, the control electronics allow you to set the minimum amount of oil consumption. If the oil flow is reduced (for example, by 10{b7c8b64ac0594b3877ce0e6649c4099ed19805091971e6f1b26f8f10bcef4e7a} due to a blocked nozzle), a service inspection signal will appear on the display.

In order to achieve total and energy-saving combustion, the burner must be perfectly matched to the boiler. Otherwise, the boiler will have lower efficiency, and hence – will use more oil to produce the same amount of heat.

Oil burners – types

Fan burners can be one- or two-stage. In boilers with one-stage burners, the capacity change occurs by turning the burner on or off. Boilers with two-stage burners on the first stage work with less power, on the second – with nominal. Two-stage burners ensure more economical operation of the heating system. Rebar Bender is equipped with a security system controlling the system operation, and in the event of a malfunction, switching off the burner and shutting off the fuel supply.

A two-stage burner better than a one-stage burner. A properly selected oil burner guarantees durability and high boiler energy efficiency as well as minimizing pollutant emissions.
